Razorpay settlement not matching your WooCommerce orders? How to find the gap
By the Veritally team · Updated · 5 min read
Quick answer
A Razorpay settlement is many payments bundled together, minus Razorpay's fee, the GST on it and any refunds, so it never equals one day's WooCommerce sales. Download the Settlement Recon report, match each prepaid WooCommerce order to its payment ID (pay_...), and check every payment was settled, for the right amount, under a UTR that reached your bank.
Key points
- The official Razorpay plugin saves the payment ID on each WooCommerce order as its transaction ID.
- The Settlement Recon report lists every payment, refund and adjustment with its settlement ID and UTR.
- Expected settlement = payment amount, minus Razorpay's fee and GST on it, minus refunds.
- Give each payment your settlement cycle plus a few days before calling it unsettled.
- Cashfree and PayU have equivalent settlement reports, and the same matching applies.
Why the numbers never line up at a glance
| Your WooCommerce report shows | Your bank shows |
|---|---|
| Each order, at its full price | One credit per settlement, covering many orders |
| Sales on the day the customer paid | Money on the day Razorpay settled, on your cycle |
| Refunds when you issued them | Refunds deducted from a later settlement |
| No gateway fees | Fees and GST on fees already taken out |
So the gap between "sales" and "credits" is mostly timing and fees. The money that is really missing hides inside it: a payment never settled, or settled short.
What to download
| Report | Where | Key columns |
|---|---|---|
| WooCommerce orders | WooCommerce, Orders | Order number, total, refunds, status, payment method, transaction ID |
| Razorpay Settlement Recon | Razorpay Dashboard, Reports, Settlement Recon | Payment ID, order receipt, amount, fee, tax, settlement ID, settled date, UTR |
| Bank statement | Net banking, Excel or CSV | Credits and their UTR references |
How to find the real gaps
- Keep prepaid WooCommerce orders (not Cash on delivery) that are paid, not cancelled.
- Match each to the Settlement Recon line with the same payment ID. If there is none, try the order number in the receipt column.
- No settlement line, and past your settlement cycle plus a few days: the payment was never settled.
- A settlement line, but the settled amount is below the order total minus fee, GST on fee and refunds: settled short.
- Find each settlement's UTR in your bank statement and compare the credit with the settlement total.
What to ask Razorpay for
| Finding | What to ask |
|---|---|
| Prepaid order never settled | The settlement status of the payment, and payment if it was captured |
| Settled less than expected | A breakdown of the deductions, and correction of any that don't apply |
| Settlement UTR not in your bank | Confirmation of the account and transfer, or a fresh payout |
Veritally for WooCommerce runs these checks on every prepaid order inside WordPress, from the Razorpay report you already download, and writes the message to send. The set-up guide shows each step with pictures.
Frequently asked questions

Why is one bank credit so different from my day's sales?
