Selling on Meesho, Flipkart and Amazon together: how to keep payouts under control

By the Veritally team · · 3 min read

Adding a second marketplace doubles your reach and more than doubles your paperwork. Here is a simple weekly and monthly system that keeps every channel honest.

Why it gets hard so fast

Each marketplace has its own payout cycle, its own report layout, its own words for the same charge and its own claim process. Meesho, Flipkart and Amazon India each describe commission, shipping and returns differently. When money lands in one bank account from three places, it gets very hard to tell which payout covered which orders.

The answer is not a bigger spreadsheet. It is a simple routine that treats each marketplace separately until the very end.

The weekly routine (15 minutes)

  1. Note every payout that arrived in your bank this week, with the date, amount and reference number.
  2. Tag each one with the marketplace it came from. The narration in your bank statement usually tells you.
  3. Check the expected date for any payout that did not arrive. The payout date calculator shows when each marketplace should pay and can email you if it is late.

That is it. You are not reconciling yet, just making sure nothing is late.

The monthly routine (one sitting)

Once a month, for each marketplace separately:

  1. Download the payments or settlement report, the orders report and the bank statement for the month.
  2. Check delivered orders against paid orders.
  3. Check deductions: commission, shipping, returns, RTO, penalties.
  4. Match each payout to the bank.
  5. Raise claims for anything the evidence supports.

Use the marketplace guides for the details: Meesho payment reconciliation, Flipkart settlement reconciliation and Amazon settlement report reconciliation.

Keep one simple summary

After each marketplace is done, fill one row per marketplace in a summary:

MarketplaceOrders deliveredMoney settledDifferences foundClaims raisedClaims credited
Meesho
Flipkart
Amazon India

This one table tells you which channel is really profitable and which one keeps making mistakes.

Use the same words everywhere

Each marketplace names its charges differently. Keep a small glossary so "shipping fee", "forward logistics" and "delivery charge" all go into one column. Our seller payout glossary is a good starting point.

Do not mix up claims

Claims for different marketplaces have different windows and formats. Keep one tracker with a marketplace column so you never chase Flipkart about an Amazon order. The claim tracker has this built in.

Where software helps

The monthly routine is where most of the time goes, and it is the same work for every marketplace. Veritally reads each marketplace's own reports, keeps them separate, explains every payout and lists what is worth claiming. You still run your business your way; you just stop spending weekends on matching.

Frequently asked questions

Should I reconcile all marketplaces together?

No. Reconcile each marketplace separately with its own reports first, then combine the results in one summary. Mixing them early makes differences impossible to trace.

How do I know which marketplace a bank credit came from?

The bank narration usually names the marketplace or its payment entity, and the payout's reference or UTR number appears in the marketplace's payments report.

Which marketplace makes the most mistakes?

It varies by seller, category and period. Track differences per marketplace for a few months and your own numbers will tell you.
