Is your Zomato or Swiggy commission right?

Both apps charge commission as your contract rate times the commissionable value of each order, which leaves out the customer's GST, then add a payment collection fee and 18% GST on both. To check it, divide the commission on each order by its commissionable value and compare it with your contract. Rates differ by outlet and contract, so your agreement is the only rate that counts.

Settlement days and rates differ by outlet and contract: your own agreement is what counts. Updated 5 November 2026.

Common reasons

  • Commission is a % of the commissionable value, not of what the customer paid, so working it out on the full bill makes it look wrong when it isn't.
  • 18% GST is added on the commission and the payment fee, so the total fee line is higher than the rate alone.
  • Some orders can carry a different rate from the rest, for example after a contract change: those are the ones to question.
  • Long distance charges or other opted-in fees are separate lines, not commission.

What to do, step by step

  1. 1Download the order-level statement: Zomato's Settlement Report or Swiggy's annexure, as Excel.
  2. 2For each order, divide the commission (Zomato: Service fee) by the Commissionable value.
  3. 3Compare each result with the rate in your contract.
  4. 4List the orders charged more, with their order IDs and dates, and send them to partner support.

How our fee works

We charge only on the red part

Every check sorts what may be missing into three colours. Our fee is 10% of the red part only: the money with strong evidence. Amber and grey are shown to you free. No fee on them, ever.

ExampleTotal that may be missing ₹10,000
  • Strong evidenceFee: 10% of this₹6,000
  • Worth checkingNo fee₹3,000
  • To reviewNo fee₹1,000
You pay₹600

Not 10% of ₹10,000 (₹1,000). Only 10% of ₹6,000.

Strong evidence under ₹200: free. Nothing found: nothing to pay. Claim rejected: your fee for it comes back.

Questions owners ask

What commission do Zomato and Swiggy charge?

It depends on your outlet and contract. Restaurant associations report rates from 8% to 28%, so check your own agreement rather than a general figure.

Why does my commission look higher than my rate?

Often because it was worked out on the full bill, including the customer's GST, or because 18% GST on the fee was added in. Divide the commission by the commissionable value to see the real rate.

Can Veritally check every order's commission for me?

Yes. Upload the Excel statement and Veritally lists every order charged above your usual rate. A second rate shared by many orders is treated as a tier, not an error.
